Gymnastic Technique Workshops

Gymnastic training isn't just for kids or elite athletes—it's an awesome way for adults to boost their fitness and overall well-being! We use different gymnastic movements in each of our classes but they can sometimes be scary especially if you have never done them before. There are so many great benefits to using them inside or outside of your fitness routine like:

  1. Flexibility and Balance: Gymnastics involves tons of moves that can really help with your flexibility and balance. As we get older, staying flexible becomes super important for avoiding injuries and keeping good posture. Regular practice can really help your muscles and joints stay limber.

  2. Strength Building: You can build strength using just your body weight. Whether you're doing handstands, working on the rings, or hitting the parallel bars, these moves engage multiple muscle groups. It’s an effective way to get toned without needing heavy weights.

  3. Coordination and Agility: All those different movements in gymnastics can seriously up your coordination and agility. This can make everyday tasks easier and help reduce the risk of falls—plus, you’ll just feel more athletic overall!

  4. Mental Health Boost: Gymnastics isn’t just a physical workout; it’s great for your mind too! Focusing on learning new skills and nailing them can really boost your confidence and help reduce stress. Plus, the physical activity releases those feel-good endorphins!

  5. Core Strength: A lot of gymnastics exercises target your core, which is key for stability and a strong spine. A solid core can help ease back pain, improve your posture, and even make you better at other sports.

Some of moves can be quite basic to learn like a squat or a push up, but others can be a little more technical. That is where guidance from trained coaches comes in to play.

Starting in February, we are running 3 Gymnastics Workshops to help work on the strength and technique involved with the more advanced movements that come up in class like:

  • Handstand Push ups

  • Handstand Walking

  • Chest to bar pull ups

  • Toes to Bar

  • Muscle Ups

Come to 1 or all 3 of these one hour workshops, where you will focus on the drills and skills to help get you these movements. Not to worry if you are a beginner starting out or have been trying to get one of these movements for a while, we will have something for every skill level to work on just in time for the CrossFit Open that starts February 27th 2025.
