A case for not waiting to start your fitness journey.

December is always a busy time of the year. Parties to plan, gifts to buy, running around with kids sports, the list goes on. There is always going to be a reason to put getting started on hold. You think to yourself; ' After the holidays I will have more time to work on my health and fitness'. But January comes along and maybe you have a holiday coming up and you will just get started after that. The only problem is, something else will come up that you will just wait until after that. Then in a blink of an eye 6 months has gone by and you are still feeling tired, still feeling worn out, maybe even 2 steps back from where you were when you thought about starting.

We unfortunately live in a society that promotes late nights, drinking, and sedentary lifestyles. There can definitely be a time and place to have late night parties and enjoy some beverages, but when it turns into every Friday and Saturday night the result on your health can be devastating. There can be a lot of stress around the holidays but that is the thing about working out, it allows you to better handle stress and gives a positive outlet of release. The start of Winter in general can also be a tough time for a lot of people in regards to mental health and depression using working out and being around other health minded people can be hugely beneficial to your health!

Instead of thinking of your health and fitness as a chore that you will get to - try a mindset shift of -this will help me to enjoy more, do more, have more energy to take on life.

We recently had a client not want to start Personal Training until they came back from a trip over seas that was in 6 weeks time. We chatted about it in her consultation and decided that 6 weeks of training would help them explore more and experience more on her trip than if she waited until she returned. The result? She trained before her trip and came back excited about the amount of walking she was able to do and was not worried about stairs like she was before she had done any training.

Not sure where to start? That is what we are here for. You and your coach will work together to make a plan of attack- we handle the programming and help you through every step of the way. All you have to do is show up for yourself.

Book a consultation and let's make a plan!
