What is Fitness Racing?

Have you seen Hyrox or DEKA Fitness racing online and thought "Heck yea, I want to try that!"?


They are both

rapidly growing fitness race formats that are transforming the landscape of competitive fitness by combining elements of traditional endurance sports with high-intensity functional exercises, creating a challenging and exhilarating experience for participants.


Hyrox, often dubbed the “World Series of Fitness Racing,” is designed to test an athlete's strength, speed, and endurance. The race consists of a 1 km run, followed by a functional workout, repeated eight times. These workouts include exercises such as sled pushes, burpees, rowing, and wall balls, ensuring that competitors are pushed to their physical limits. What makes Hyrox particularly appealing is its accessibility; it caters to a wide range of fitness levels, from elite athletes to everyday fitness enthusiasts looking for a new challenge. The event takes place in a controlled indoor environment, which allows for consistent competition conditions regardless of the weather.


Similarly, DEKA Fitness, created by the team behind Spartan Race, offers a fresh approach to fitness racing. DEKA events are all about celebrating fitness and providing a platform where everyone can test and celebrate their fitness levels. The DEKA race format includes ten functional fitness zones, known as DEKA Zones, that focus on foundational movements like squats, lunges, and jumps. This format ensures that participants are engaging in a full-body workout that improves strength, agility, and cardiovascular endurance. In addition to the standard DEKA event, there are variations like DEKA STRONG and DEKA MILE, which cater to different fitness goals and preferences.


Both Hyrox and DEKA Fitness races emphasize community and personal achievement. They encourage participants to push their limits while fostering a supportive atmosphere where everyone, regardless of their level, can feel accomplished and inspired.

This is why we have created a 12 week Fitness Racing Prep Class to get your ready to take on your first race OR improve on previous race times.


In this program you will get a 75 minute class Wednesday nights at 6pm and 2 additional runs each week. You will also be registered for a mock race at the end to get the feel for the real deal.
